A sky full of kites at the Kite Festival...

... and some of the super-sized novelty kites that were flown.

Kaira and some of her friends on Princess dress-up day at ballet class.

Crazy hair day at school... We started with two pigtails on the side of her head, and then combined them into one ponytail on the top of her head and curled it. It was supposed to be silly, but ended up looking pretty cute. She loved the curls.

We are currently (temporarily) housing a pet bunny that was apparently dumped in our neighborhood, and I found the yard. I have a friend who will be taking it shortly, but it is currently in our care and Kaira loves playing with it.

I took Kaira to the ballet. The Baton Rouge Ballet Theater (which is affiliated with Kaira's dance school) put on the Cinderalla ballet. Most of the girls in the audience, including Kaira, were dressed up in princess dressed. Kaira wore her Cinderella dress I made for her for Halloween last year. She was absolutely riveted to the ballet, it was very well done. At the part where they try the glass slipper on all the ladies of the land, they actually had the prince's men come out into the audience with slippers and try them on the girls. It didn't fit Kaira... too big :(

AgMagic
The LSU agricultural center puts on a display that they call AgMagic each year. You get to see agricultural products and what they are made into, as well as getting to see all kinds of bugs, animals, and displays.

Kaira and Lokei using molds to make animal footprints in the sand... Stamping various leaves... Checking out the crawfish pond.

Checking out the butterflies, beetles, bugs, etc on display... Looking at the butterflies in the butterfly exhibit... Petting the cow.

Petting the goats and sheep... Standing with Smokey the Bear... Petting the piglets

Holding baby chicks...

Riding on the pretend horse.

Getting ready to enter the Body Walk, where you get to follow the path of food through the body. You start in the mouth, sitting on big plastic teeth, then continue on through the stomach, into the intestines where the nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream, then onto the heart, and to the muscles and bones. They learned various facts about nutrition and the body along the way (the small intestines are 22 ft long, there are 206 bones in the body, 636 muscles...)
